a Golf for all breeds.

The SV is the all-rounder in the Golf family. We engaged some qualified specialists to put it to the test – from a King Poodle to a Dogue de Bordeaux. These experts tested its versatility from racing and cruising to posing and playing.

great for posing.

Beautiful views.

Like every top model, the Golf SV has the perfect measurements. The wheel base has increased by 4.8 cm compared with the Golf. All in all, it is 8.3 cm longer and 12.6 cm higher. The shortened front overhang creates a dynamic impression. Particularly striking are the trim strips on the radiator grille and the enlarged headlamps. The xenon headlights emit a light spectrum that is similar to daylight, relieving the strain on the driver when driving at night. Not only do they have a greater range, they also provide excellent side illumination for more safety. And the panoramic tilt/slide roof also provides more fresh air, when you want it.

great for cruising.

Luxury for all.

Come in – the door is always open! The doors of the SV can open particularly wide – and all in one go, too. With the comfortable seat height you can keep an overall view of all situations and get in and out with ease.

great for racing.

A lot to offer.

Here it’s not just about outward appearances – the Golf SV particularly impresses with its inner values. The basic version is already endowed with standard equipment such as the electronic differential lock XDS+, the multi-collision brake, and air-conditioner. Other features include seven airbags, the new electronic parking brake, a 38.1 cm touch screen, a variable luggage compartment floor, and luggage compartment cover. The SV engines, with an output ranging from 63 kW (85 hp) to 110 kW (150 hp), come equipped with a start/stop system, are up to 19% more efficient than previous versions, and meet the Euro 6 exhaust emission standard. The 1.6 TDI BlueMotion with 81 kW (110 hp) shows how efficient the Golf SV’s new engines are: it only consumes 3.6 litres per 60 miles – corresponding to 95 g/km of CO2.

great for guarding.

Electronic helper.

Safety first! For the first time in a Golf, the SV has a blind spot sensor with parking manoeuvre assistance. While you’re driving, it can warn against vehicles in the blind spot, thus making lane changes easier. The parking manoeuvre assistance warns you of approaching vehicles when reversing out of a parking place. If a collision is imminent, the electronics automatically activate an emergency braking function. Additional assistance systems in the SV:, Park Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control ACC, Front Assist and Dynamic Light Assist.

behind the scenes.

Two days, six dogs, and a lot of fun: in the “Making of” video we show how our story was created.

great for relaxing.

Room for all.

A huge shopping trip? No problem. Because the Golf SV has a large and very flexible interior. The luggage compartment holds 590 litres, which can expand to 1,520 litres when the back seat is pushed forward. All backrest elements on the movable back seat can be folded down. This results in an almost flat loading area. Still not enough? If you also fold down the front passenger seat backrest, you’ll even have space for objects up to a length of 2.40 metres. Small things can be stored in one of the many storage compartments, or in the cooled glove compartment.

great for playing.

Bliss for the ears.

The Danish hi-fi specialist Dynaudio has developed a sound system specifically for the Golf SV. Loudspeakers made of a low-resonance magnesium silicate polymer, and a digital 400-watt multi-channel amplifier deliver precise sounds and dynamics. The unique centre speaker in the SV offers balanced acoustics and the subwoofer guarantees deep bass sounds.
